Art Thinking with Stampone
"Art does not need a universal language; it is one in itself."
Giuseppe stampone
Tirelli & Partners is proud to present the result of the Art Thinking project carried out together with Giuseppe Stampone and Francesco Cascino.

This project was a great thrill during the process, but even more so seeing the end result.
Joseph's work was able to give new life and depth to each theme that we had handed over to him because it was foundational to our being and way of working. To discover that, through the eyes of another person, it is possible to find something new, something profound about a theme that you thought you knew definitively, from which you thought you had "sucked all the marrow of life" was truly a gift.
We have all had an experience of "incompleteness" on which we can and want to work to build better human relationships. If others can be givers of new meanings to words we cherish, we should derive the realization that nothing is ever said all the way through and that therefore in dialogue with each other we can always discover things from which we will be enriched.

Tirelli & Partners' Abbecedario.
The 10 core words of our being
and the way we work.

Listening
Stripping away one's own beliefs to create space for the other, to welcome them, to perceive them, to hear them without judging: this means really listening. Today we all want to talk, but only a few listen; we are constantly subjected to distractions, little patience and the rush to respond in order to have our say.
Listening, according to Irina
I chose this word to remind myself of the importance and beauty of listening as a key word of knowledge and acceptance. By actively listening we can bring out the other's sensitivity and authenticity and this opens up new knowledge, new understandings, new possibilities because nothing is ever said to the end and therefore in dialogue we can always discover things from which we will be enriched.
Joseph painted the ideal listening, the one we would all like to be capable of. It is the rapt and amazed listening of a child who finds the sea inside the shell. It is a gentle, curious and light-hearted listening that we all experienced as children. This work led me to reflect on the need to protect the heart by which we were once able to find the infinite within the finite.
If we were capable of it, we can be again. Or at least we can try, thus experiencing that in every path is already contained the goal that spawned it.

Benefit
"Ethics before aesthetics." That is all that Giuseppe Stampone's little girls are looking at in a sky with no other view. A postcard, perhaps from heaven, to remind us of the deep meaning of our role as educators, sketched through letters and numbers to recall teaching. The centrality of ethics is the reason I chose this letter. Benefit corporations and BCorp blend together economic goals and common good purposes in a synthesis that respects the integrity of the human being.
Benefit
Work and private life cannot be portions of existence managed according to two opposing morals.
Since good example is an alternative source of civic consciousness, it is now greatly necessary to create ethical enterprises that flourish by realizing the potential of those who work in them and by fertilizing society as a whole.
In Joseph's portrayal I capture the tension so that ethics and aesthetics can coincide, so that the "good" and the "beautiful" can once again flourish from the one root that generated them, I capture the theme of education and teaching outside the box summarized by an alphabet whose last letter is X , and I capture the theme of exclusion that calls everyone to extra attention and commitment so that no one is deliberately left behind.

Care
I have chosen this letter from Giuseppe Stampone's abecedary because the four words depicted I would like to occupy an important role in my life.I believe that everything begins with the word "care" in the sense that the other three words lose much of their strength if with become complementary to this one. In life and even more so in work, being kind, transparent and carrying lightness is a value especially if what we have done is "cared for" that is, done well.
Care
From the work of Joseph, who chose to create his own representation of a famous photograph by Elliot Erwitt ,I catch multiple connections with my four words.
There is the attention to the gazes of the visitors and of Erwitt's gaze that captures everything with his camera, without which curation becomes impossible; there is transparency because in this situation precisely the correlation between the gender of the observers and the observed picture is captured; there is kindness and lightness because the whole is shown with humor and irony that the storytelling way of Sordi and Benigni.

Home - Luxury
Luxury Homes - Fair Service: no doubt that H had to be part of our spelling book.Giuseppe chose an image from the cover of an iconic book by Italo Calvino, The Invisible Cities, to tell us about the value and power of imagination and fantasy that generates new possibilities, cities/worlds/ways of living that had not been thought of.
Home - Luxury
Calvino says, "Of a city you do not enjoy the seven or seventy-seven wonders, but the answer it gives to one of your questions." The same, in my opinion, applies to our homes.I venture, with the passion that drives us: we, like Marco Polo, want to tell our clients about the many opportunities to understand and imaginatively decline the "luxury" of a home, and above all to help them imagine with different eyes what is already theirs or what can become theirs.

Failure
I chose this work because it looks at failure with very different eyes from those with which "performance society" looks at it, and it is a view that reflects my own feeling in a profound way.Joseph draws a space cluttered with insignificant, useless and forgotten objects with a desk and a blackboard in the foreground as if to represent the misery of a school that teaches plans to become successful people, that prepares us for a society built on winning, on rushing to surpass others, when it should be helping us to grow and become women and men directed toward our own uniqueness and authenticity.
Failure
Absent from the drawing are people. In fact, failure does not touch them, because it is the very idea of success thus understood that is false. This reminds us of Joseph. Failure is omnipresent in our journey as women and men. It is so in work life, as well as in the life of affection and relationships, all areas subject to mistakes, falls and betrayals. We exalt ourselves over our "successes" instead of learning to consider failures life experiences. To make sure we do not forget this, we inscribed failure in our vision and handed it over to Joseph to make it the most important table in our spelling book.

I chose this word because of the deep meaning it conveys to me. This word makes my life easier because it makes me think that none of us exists without others, we are all deeply interconnected. Moving from the loneliness of the self to the companionship of the we for me who come from Senegal is a great comfort. I am used to community because in Africa that is the center of life. I am happy to have come to Italy, but without the We my life here would be much more difficult.
We
Joseph's work brought me back to that time that recalls the joy of being together physically, but also of feeling together. Around the Christmas tree are present in remembrance those who are far away and also those who are no longer visible to us because true relationships endure even in distance. All that we have loved remains with us forever.

Observatory
We have been publishing the Observatory on Exclusive Residences for 20 years. Our expertise on market dynamics is one of the factors that sets us apart, and so the O has rightfully entered the abbecedario.Giuseppe Stampone chose to take a work by Maurizio Cattelan, the artist who brought communication and advertising into art, just as we try to bring art into our business.
Observatory
Coming out of the hole is like starting from the origins, having a historical memory and identity to carry into the present. Personally, this image also suggested other interpretations to me:
- We are inside the market observing like Cattelan from the hole, digging for an unusual point of view;
- Cattelan's work proposes a different and original perspective on things, and that is what we do with the Observatory and in general in all our activity;
- The hole in the floor and Cattelan himself bring out in the museum a new reality, a new possibility, which was already available but had not yet been considered. By analogy I associate us and our research work with this new reality/possibility.

Relationshipsand responsibilities
A train station, a board with arrival and departure times a bit dated as dated are the clothes of the people seen in the foreground. Giuseppe Stampone takes us with this work back to a time in the past, a time when the train and the station were the main symbols of travel and thus means of access to knowledge and relationships old and new.I read in this work a mirroring between what is above and what is below, just like in one of those photographs of Mount Fuji and its lake. Above is the digital dimension of information and relationships, while below is the real one.
Relationships and responsibilities
I chose this work because of the strong resonances I received from it.
The board with departures and arrivals suggested to me a correspondence with buyers and sellers. The board points, informs, guides to various destinations, somewhat like our role as real estate agents showing and facilitating the search path of those who rely on us.
The greater the complexity of the path, the greater the possibility for us to weave human relationships with them to overcome obstacles together toward the finish line. In each relationship built I discover something I did not know about myself and through this discovery I ascertain the invisible ties that connect us. Taking responsibility for the good of the other: that is why caring for the people who entrust themselves to me is the deep meaning I attach to my work.

Solidarity
Of Joseph's work what is aroused in me is the certainty that when one observes with the heart between the observer and the observed all division ceases. There is only a mutual reflection; a holding each the threads of the other's heart with delicacy and care. As in the red painted heart.I chose this work because of the importance that being in solidarity with others has in my life.I feel the joy of doing and giving to others as much as I am and as much as I can, but I am also aware that what I receive in return is much more.
Solidarity
It is difficult to describe it in words; for it is something one discovers only in experience. This immense wealth by which one feels inhabited is captured and metaphorically represented by Joseph through the Suspended Heart, among the most expensive sculptures in the world.
However, I also chose this work because of the theme of sustainability, which for me represents solidarity with the Earth. Just as being in solidarity means taking care of each other, being sustainable is taking care of our common home. Today there seems to me to be a risk and temptation to make sustainability an empty package wrapped in precious papers. Outward gloss as the only meaning of things is precisely a central theme in the work of Jeff Koons whose Hanging Heart is portrayed by Giuseppe.

Vision
I chose this letter from Giuseppe Stampone's spelling book because as founder of Tirelli & Partners vision and values were the bricks on which I wanted to build the foundation of this company.
Vision is the view we wish to have of life, and what we will be able to grasp of reality depends on it. Tirelli & Partners' vision speaks of justice, of meaning, of people and the collaboration that binds them together and makes them flourish, of responsible and sustainable enterprise, of falling down and getting back up without losing the polar star that orients and guides action. To have vision is to know how to look beyond, into a beyond that is physical and metaphysical at the same time.
Vision
If vision is the gaze, values are the white pebbles that guide our path in the footsteps left by others before us so that our steps today leave that path clean and visible for those who will walk it tomorrow.
Joseph in this abecedarian letter of his draws a poem. Lucio Fontana, a giant of culture, imagined a way to open to art new spaces outside the boundaries known until then thanks to his cuts that open in the canvas a path never before trodden.
With this work Joseph reminds everyone that art is a creator of ethical and spiritual values that by opening new possibilities are the primary source from which gush the only economic goods worthy of Human greatness. This is exactly the meaning of what Adriano Olivetti said in his famous speech to the united workforce in 1946: "What shall we do, what shall we do? Everything is summed up in one thought, in one teaching: we will be led by spiritual values. These are eternal values, following these material goods will arise of themselves without our seeking them."
